Alex Watson
BSc (Hons), RCOT, BAHT
Occupational Therapist Specialist in Hand Therapy
Alex Watson is a highly experienced Specialist Occupational Therapist and Hand Therapist with over 20 years of clinical experience across the NHS and private practice. For the past 11 years, he has specialised exclusively in hand and wrist therapy, helping patients recover from injury, surgery and long-term conditions through expert rehabilitation and personalised care. Alex holds a BSc (Hons) in Occupational Therapy and is a member of the Royal College of Occupational Therapists (RCOT), the British Association of Hand Therapists (BAHT) and the British Society for Surgery of the Hand (BSSH).
Alex specialises in the assessment and treatment of a wide range of hand, wrist and upper limb conditions, including fractures, tendon and ligament injuries, post-operative rehabilitation, scar management, arthritis, hypermobility, nerve-related symptoms and persistent pain. He has a particular interest in restoring wrist function and combines evidence-based rehabilitation with a calm, practical and highly individualised approach. Alex also designs bespoke custom splints and functional supports to help reduce pain, improve recovery and restore independence.
Known for his clear communication and thoughtful problem-solving, Alex works closely with patients to ensure they feel informed, supported and confident throughout their recovery. Outside the clinic, he enjoys Tai Chi, swimming and DIY projects — practical skills that have even inspired creative rehabilitation solutions for patients. A dedicated South African-style braai enthusiast, he currently owns three barbeques and is already making a case for a fourth.
