Expert care for women living with persistent pelvic pain
At Mint Wellbeing, our specialist Pelvic Health Physiotherapists provide expert assessment and treatment for women living with persistent pelvic pain and complex pelvic health conditions. Every member of our team holds postgraduate qualifications in Pelvic Health, bringing advanced expertise to conditions that are often misunderstood, misdiagnosed or left untreated.
Pelvic pain can affect every aspect of life, including sleep, exercise, work, relationships, intimacy and emotional wellbeing. It can be isolating, frustrating and difficult to talk about. Many of the women we see have spent months or even years searching for answers before reaching our clinic. Our role is to listen carefully, assess thoroughly and help you understand what is driving your symptoms, so that treatment can move forward with clarity and confidence.
Assessment that looks at the whole picture
Persistent pelvic pain is rarely the result of a single problem. More often, it involves a combination of physical, nervous system and lifestyle factors, which is why symptoms can sometimes feel complex and difficult to diagnose and treat effectively.
Your initial assessment is detailed, thorough and unhurried. We take the time to understand the full picture, exploring not only where your pain is felt, but also the factors that may be contributing to it, including:
Nervous system sensitisation and pain processing
- Persistent pain can change the way the nervous system responds to signals from the body, increasing sensitivity and amplifying symptoms. Understanding these changes is often an important part of successful treatment.
Pelvic floor function
- The pelvic floor can be overactive, underactive, poorly coordinated or a combination of all three. Where appropriate, we use real time ultrasound and EMG biofeedback for an accurate, objective picture of what your pelvic floor is actually doing.
Breathing mechanics, pressure management and movement patterns
- The way you breathe, brace and move has a direct impact on your pelvic floor and your pain. We assess these carefully and address them as part of treatment.
Your wider history
- Previous injuries, childbirth, surgeries, hormonal influences, bladder and bowel function, exercise habits and stress all play a role. We take the time to understand how they fit together for you.
Where appropriate, we work collaboratively with your GP, consultant or wider healthcare team to ensure coordinated, multidisciplinary care.

A Supportive, Specialist Approach to Pelvic Pain
Many clients arrive at our clinic having spent months or years trying to make sense of their symptoms. Some have been told everything looks normal. Others have learned to work around their pain and gradually stopped doing the things they enjoy.
Pelvic pain can be complex, but that does not mean it is untreatable.
With the right assessment and a clear understanding of what is driving your symptoms, meaningful improvement is often possible. Our role is to help you understand your body, reduce pain and regain confidence in the parts of life that have been affected.
You do not need to have all the answers before booking an appointment. That’s what we’re here for.
